Very recently I got a new Monstera which was huge! I didn't realize how huge it was until I got her. When receiving a video and pics of it from the previous owner, I didn't see the Monstera was actually that big. It didn't have a pole and basically kept growing to the side so it was laying on the floor of my home when I brought her. I decided to cut it off into four pieces. You do remember that it can root only if you keep an air root, right?
The Mostera can not be propagated without an air root
I have had Monsteras before, but never this big. So I ended up potting the root and three leaves (with the air root) right into the soil with the hope, it would root and give me new growths soon.
Look how huge and sad it was!
All laying on the ground. The pot was actually too huge for the roots too and has a tiny hole so no wonder it would not feel good. The soil also was very heavy for the roots to breathe.
I also got a very tall pole as it was my first experience with such. I cut it off into two pieces and now two of my monsteras sit next to it.
Looking at the leaf fascinates me.
I also had one cut with two leaves left and I was about to give it to a friend of mine but she didn't come into my place in time so the leaves started yellowing and I decided to pot it next to my other Monstera. It looks kinda ugly but I like it :)
You can see it in the background.
I hope the update is going to come very soon so I have a new grow.
